Fire doors are classified by material
According to the material, fire doors include 3 main types as follows:
- Wood grain steel doors: The main material is electroplated steel with a thickness of 0.6 – 1.5mm. The outside is powder coated and creates wood grain patterns similar to natural wood. The core is made of honeycomb paper or fiberglass. Steel doors have different fire resistance times (60; 90; 120 minutes) depending on the type.
- Fireproof steel doors: Made of steel with a thickness of about 0.8 to 1.5mm. The core is made of honeycomb paper or fireproof glass wool with a fire resistance of 60; 90; 120 minutes depending on the type.
- Fireproof stainless steel doors: Made of stainless steel sheets with a thickness of about 0.8 to 1.5mm; the core is made of honeycomb paper or fireproof glass wool; fire resistance of 180 minutes.
Fireproof doors are classified by the number of door panels:
- 2-panel fireproof doors
- 1-panel fireproof doors
Fireproof doors classified by area of use
Including exit doors, technical doors, garbage rooms, and apartment doors:
- Exit doors: Usually installed on the stairs of apartment buildings, high-rise buildings, … with exit signs (Exit). This type of door must have 2 pieces forming 1 point to form a pressure chamber. The type of escape door is usually closed but not locked; it is not allowed to install a lock on the escape door.
- Technical door, garbage room: has a fireproof structure but is allowed to install a safety lock.
- Apartment door: has the same structure as a fireproof door and is often painted with wood grain with some accessories suitable for the function of use.
